Fabrics

Central to my Conscious Collection is the sourcing of superior quality sustainable fabrics.

TENCEL™ Lyocell

An innovative filament fiber created from wood pulp sourced from sustainably managed forests. Tencel™ Lyocell fibers are made through an awarded closed loop process that ensures almost no harmful waste water, chemicals or byproducts re-enter the environment. This naturally soft and breathable fiber is biodegradable.

Bemberg™ / Modal

The raw material of Bemberg™ is cotton linter; waste from the cottonseed oil manufacturing process. The linter is transformed through a closed loop process into a cellulose fiber that is biodegradable and breathable. Modal fibers like Lyocell are made using wood pulp cellulose.

End-of-Stock Synthetics

With a commitment to more conscious practices and fabric choices I will no longer purchase any new synthetic fabrics. Synthetic fibers depend on dirty fossil fuel production and shed microplastics into the environment. These robust fibres are not biodegradable and are clogging landfills. In spite of this, one of the most sustainable actions we can take now is not to discard but wear what we already own and take steps to extend their usable life even if constructed from synthetics. In this spirit I have made the decision to continue to create garments with synthetics fabrics already in my inventory. These pieces are clearly labelled as end-of-stock synthetics.
