My Story

At a young age I began making clothes for myself on my mother’s sewing machine. Her instruction and passion for home crafts inspired me to experiment with different techniques and materials. This early influence has distinctly defined my approach to bridal wear.

With a background in fine art, visual studies and garment construction I am best described as an artisan designer and recognised for my sophisticated visual language and passion for embellishment, fine detailing and exemplary handwork.

LABEL

I launched my eponymous label in 2013 creating unique couture pieces. Today my focus remains dedicated to client/designer collaborations. Driven by innovation and a dedication to superior construction and finish, my dresses are designed to be worn by creative forward thinking clients.

I am currently researching and sourcing sustainable fabric options. If you are interested please be in touch.

APPROACH

The Fiona Mauchan studio is an inclusive, supportive environment offering one-to-one consultations. My collaborative approach is one that allows the client considerable input throughout the process, resulting in a finished garment that is a reflection of the client but which also remains true to the studio’s aesthetic objective.
