The Process

At our first meeting we will share some tea and cake while I learn more about you and what you envision for your wedding day. We will discuss your ideas and which styles would best suit the ambiance on your wedding day (and your budget). Do you want a vintage inspired wedding dress that speaks to a bygone era or an unconventional gown to suit a contemporary setting. After your consultation a mood board with three custom designs options will be sent to you by email.

After initial measurements are taken and the design of your dress has been approved I will begin work on a mock-up of your dress. The mock will be constructed from an inexpensive fabric that best mimics the nature of the final fabric to be used. At your fittings of the mock we are not only checking the fit of the pattern, but making sure it is what you had envisioned.

When I have perfected the pattern and the fit of the dress, work will begin on your actual dress from quality fabrics you have selected. You will be called to a number of fittings before the final fitting which usually takes place 2 weeks before your big day.

For your first fitting and all subsequent fittings it is advisable to wear the undergarments you intend to wear on your wedding day. It is also advisable to buy your shoes early. We will not only need these to cut the hem of your dress, but it is probably a good idea wear your shoes in!

Once all work on your dress is complete, it is ready for collection and I am confident that you will love the final result.
