I began making clothes for myself on my mother’s sewing machine from a young age. Her passion for home crafts inspired me to experiment with different techniques and materials, from lace making to book-binding, all of which have added to my skills as a dressmaker.
After school I pursued a degree in Fine Art. Later, after graduating with a Masters degree in Art History, I was awarded certificates in Patternmaking and Bridal garment construction from Cape Peninsula University of Technology and Cape Town College of Fashion Design respectively.
Now, with 6 years experience working in Contemporary Art galleries my approach to bridal wear instinctively incorporates this visual language, sophistication and spirit of experimentation.
